We are a Community Centered in Christ, Committed to Equipping God’s People for Life and Service in God’s World.
As your child grows, we want to GROW with you! Experience opportunities that nurture the connection between faith, family, friends, and daily life. From connecting with each other at lock-ins and family retreats, to events such as caroling during Advent or family mission trips, or high schoolers connecting for weekly Wednesday night Recharge, you’ll find a variety of opportunities for families with kids of all ages.
Confirmation You’ve probably already checked out details about Confirmation on our Learn page as well as our Sunday and Wednesday School opportunities. For more details about this extended learning opportunity for 8th and 9th graders, click here or contact Marcia Pedersen
Little League Little League is best known for the annual Costume Party for students in grades K-4. We are looking forward to expanding our programing so children can join with friends for fun and fellowship more! Vacation Bible School (VBS) VBS is a summer highlight for many children and youth. It’s a high energy, fun week of learning, singing, and having fun together. Summer 2015 brings an Everest expedition the week of June 8th. Students from age 4-Grade 4 are invited to attend, and students Grade 5 and older are encouraged to volunteer and lead in some capacity. For more information, check out the Facebook event .
Other High School Activities Several opportunities throughout the year allow us to serve such as serving dinner at the Salvation Army and summer mission trips. Many students are active in school, in the community, and as ministry leaders at OSLC in many different ways, so our youth group also provides many opportunities for fun. Some past examples are lock-ins, ski trips, movie days, and much more.
Fall Retreat Our congregation’s annual fall weekend retreat at Good Earth Village, near Spring Valley, is a wonderful get-away as attested to by participants of all ages:
Brochures are available each May at the church or by clicking here . Contact Karen Behling for more information.

Grunge Summer Grunge is a ministry within our community for students in grades 5 8 who desire to extend their faith growth through service. Specifically designed to serve close to home, the Grunge experience partners service with faith building and fun. In the past, we’ve partnered with Habitat for Humanity, our local CHIPS (Community Home Improvement Programs, part of Austin’s Vision 2020), the Salvation Army, our local schools, and Hope Against Hunger, all of which have opened the eyes of students to see the needs of those around them and to take an active role in modeling positive change in our community. For more details about this exciting summer opportunity, contact Marcia Pedersen or by calling the church at 437-4516

Sounds Like Love This November weekend is filled with music and worship for high school students. Students sing in worship at St. Andrews Lutheran Church in Mahtomedi, MN and then perform two concerts in the afternoon which are also open to the public. Click here to watch a short trailer video of the 2014 event. For more information contact Rod Wiese , Kaye Perry or Marcia Pedersen

I appreciated being able to get away just to find a sense of peace. My favorite thing was getting to know other people. One participant brought irons for making brownies in the fire, and as we passed around the small loaf-sized brownie, each breaking off a piece, one commented that this felt like “brownie communion”. Indeed, it was sacred time together.
